JPK Win A Car Raffle Cheque Presentation

We collected a cheque for £543.10 yesterday from the Win a Car Raffle at The Beacon, Eastbourne.

Jill Parker, MBE & Chair of the JPK Project is pictured with Bill Plumridge, Centre Manager, The Beacon (right). John Wilton from the Rotary Club of Eastbourne Sovereign (left) who helped on our day is also pictured with Jill.

Our thanks go to The Beacon Centre in Eastbourne for this fantastic initiative. Now in its 19th year, it saw nearly 50 local charities benefit.

We also extend our thanks to the volunteers who joined us on the day to sell tickets, and to the shoppers who bought their tickets from us.

Etc January 2019 coverage

Jill Parker, MBE & Chairman to the Trustees, has featured in a list of 100 of the county’s most inspirational people in the January edition of Etc Magazine.

The magazine dedicated its entire January issue to the feature to celebrate the new year:

“Jill Parker MBE, Disability Campaigner – Inspired by her daughter, Katie, she has worked tirelessly for more than 35 years to improve services for people with learning disabilities.

Today Jill is best known for her work on the JPK Project, a charity building a residential and work experience centre in Eastbourne’s Old Town. She has also raised millions of pounds for people living with a disability.

Jill started raising funds and awareness shortly after her daughter Katie was born with a learning disability.

Jill became MBE in 2015 and, this year, won a Lifetime Achievement Award in the East Sussex Women in Business Awards.”
