Thank you all for your support !

The first JPK Christmas Day Lunch proved to be a very happy and successful function.
Jill, Chairman to the JPK Charity, along with Paula, welcomed everyone with a drink and escorted all the guests to their tables.

Luncheon commenced at 1pm, with a choice of 3 Starters, followed by a traditional Roast Turkey, plus a choice of Pan Seared Sea Bass and an Aubergine and Cashew Nut Roast. This was followed by a Quad of Puds, Cheese Board and Coffee.
The Queens Speech was televised for all to view.
Then followed the Christmas Raffle Draw. The JPK are extremely grateful to everyone who donated all the Raffle Prizes, which included our Suppliers, JH Wholesaler, Bidfood, Sothern Head, Heath & Sons and Waitrose, Eastbourne.

Jill thanked everyone for supporting the JPK on this occasion and introduced The Team who had made this function possible with the excellent cuisine and professional friendly service. This included Cliff, interim Management Supervisor and Executive Chef, Gemma, Shaila, Megan and Charlene (Student). Everyone applauded.

During December and the festive period, we have also been able to have our Students back for ‘work experience’ thanks to the support of the Covid Lottery Fund which enabled us to employ 1-1 Mentors to support our students with social distancing and all the new hygiene measures.

We aim to ensure the health and safety hygiene requirements are met and that the correct social distancing measures in place are adhered to. In following government advice, we are putting the safety and wellbeing of our customers and staff first and kindly request you follow the appropriate guidelines.

The Old Town Café is run by our volunteers and a small team with one-to-one mentors for our students on work placements. We hope to take back some of our staff, once the current situation improves and our student training centre can reopen.

Located in the heart of Eastbournes Old Town, not far from the town centre, our spacious cafe provides a friendly and relaxing atmosphere with free wifi. Our lovely volunteers and staff extend a warm welcome to everyone and serve the following:

Sadly, The Old Town Café will be closed for the foreseeable future as East Sussex has been designated to Tier 4.

We thank you all for your support and custom over the last month and wish you all a happy and healthy New Year. ‘Watch this space’ and we look forward to seeing you again before too long –hopefully, for when we can re-open again.

For our very elderly and less abled guests, the Old Town Café has disabled facilities with automatic entrance doors and level access for people using a wheelchair. We are happy to provide a highchair for little visitors and we welcome well-behaved canine guests too. 🙂
